Room for all. When you plan your room decor, make sure there is room to comfortably serve both family and special occasion meals. Most important is room to move around between table, buffet, or kitchen. Allow a minimum of three feet around the table for moving chairs easily in and out and for serving.
Seating. Again, think of your guest's comfort. Allow elbow room for eating and leg room for stretching out. If you are buying mismatched yard sale chairs, make certain they will fit under the table - especially if you use chairs with arms.
