My Favorite Designs: Andreas Charalambous

Friday, August 14, 2009

I'm going to start doing posts of my favorite rooms I see online. It helps me to consolidate them all to use as a reference when it comes time to decorate. I'll tag them as "My Favorite Designs" if you'd like to use them for future reference as well.

Anyhow, browsing HGTV's rooms, I kept checking out Andreas Charalambous's designs. His style is modern, and he uses a lot of orange, which is my favorite color. The way he pairs it with dark, rich woods works really well, and his use of lighting always looks amazing.

I love this color scheme of brown, tan, orange and yellow-green:

Masculine Glam Decor by Jon McInroe

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Can glam and masculine style peacefully co-exist? Yes, beautifully, and designer Jon McInroe's apartment is a perfect example of how to do it.

Mies Van Der Roe chairs in blue velvet:

Jon's bedroom reminds me of a glitzy hotel.
The glam is in the details:

Black and White Glam

Friday, July 17, 2009

These are some inspirational rooms I found on HGTV's Rate My Space. The black and white theme goes well whether your style is modern or contemporary and always looks good with a bit of yellow and grey thrown in. To finish off the look, add a zebra print, as shown here in the form of a rug, wall art, an ottoman and pillows.

Amir Schlezinger is an amazing landscape designer. This has got to be my dream patio..if I had a loft in the city.

Jonathan Adler in Doll Form

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Now, if you know Jonathan Adler, you've probably seen this photo:

Now check out Mr. Adler (or Ken I should say) in plastic form. (hehe)

I found these as I browsing the net for some Jonathan Adler inspiration and had to post. Michael Williams from Mawphoto.com created these recreations of Mr. Adler himself along with some super posh, Adler inspired Barbie rooms. He even used the old vintage Barbies for the rooms. Me being a design nut, if I would have had these as a kid, I would have never left my room!

Jonathan Adler's Real Life Barbie Beach House

Jonathan Adler is one of my favorite designers so I thought it would be nice to showcase some of his work. But before I do that, I have to share one of the projects he recently completed: If you haven't already seen it, well your in luck. Behold the Barbie Maibu Beach House:

Karim Rashid

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Karim Rashid does everything from art, to clothing, to furniture design and interior decor. These photos are from a mall space he designed in Moscow Russia. His colors are so vibrant and the designs look so surreal. The use of lighting in the space enhances the fun colors and sleek look of his designs. Oh how I would love for this man to come and design a room in my home..
