When they would be useful is another question, but the car desks come complete with working hazard lights, headlights, horn and spotlight as well as a stereo set into the dashboard and a choice of tire and steering wheel colors and types. Each piece is, unsurprisingly, a made-on-demand custom job.

Buyers have their choice of leather, wood, metal or colored vinyl for the top of the desk and the car itself can be recolored to suit the space the finished product is intended to sit in. What is striking about Züco’s new Ballendat-designed lounge chair is its futuristic design and its extravagant appearance. The seat surface, backrest, armrests and sub-frame follow a flowing, uninterrupted line and seamlessly come together to produce a single unit. The front and rear surfaces are oriented towards each other and create a sensuous geometry. Martin Ballendat’s emotional design really does capture the spirit of the times.

“The main objective when developing the product was to create a piece of furniture which is also a true showpiece,” said the designer. “In a world which is geared towards efficiency and economy, ‘Perillo’ offers a welcome and exciting contrast when compared to the sterile linearity of many modern buildings.”

Knoll 429L- Designed by Harry Bertoia Having worked for Charles and Ray Eames and Hans and Florence Knoll, Harry Bertoia garnered icon status as a designer when he created the Bertoia Collection for Knoll in 1952. Italian-born, Bertoia utilized his superior skills as a sculptor to bend and shape industrial wire rods into chairs that would become pinnacles of twentieth century furniture design.
