There are few things in your life that are more important than your interior house design. The reality is that you spend a good deal of your life inside your home. If you don't like the style, it has a dramatic effect on your mood and your overall health. Here are some great tips to help you achieve the interior design you want on a budget.

First of all, before you begin the project, write down an outline of everything you want to get accomplished during the home renovation. Leave no stone unturned. This is by far the most important step to your endeavor; before you even begin, you need to know what kind of design you want. Choose a style that will match your personality.

Once you have the design picked out, determine your budget and time frame you want to get the project accomplished. It's little secret that redesigning your home's interior can cost a pretty penny.

If you aren't careful, those expenses can really add up in a hurry. Keep a careful eye on your costs and make sure that you stay within your budget. Make all your decisions with the final budget target in mind.

It's much easier and cheaper to revise your plan at the outset than it is to change your project once it's underway. If you begin a project and realize that you want to change it midway through, it will have an absolutely disastrous effect on your budget and your home in general.

Decide which rooms to start on first, and stick to that plan. For instance, if you know that your kitchen, bathroom and living room absolutely need to be re-done, and the bedrooms are less urgent, start with those rooms.

One thing you need to decide on when changing the interior of your house is what style you want the theme to be in. Heck there are tons of choices like Southwest, Country, Oriental, and even Medieval. Yes all of those themes have been used before and will surely be used again.

Interior decoration is up to the person who owns the house and who will be living there for however long they own the house. Of course if it’s a couple they will most likely need to compromise on a few of the areas. You know, the husband wants a sports room done all in Nascar, but the wife would rather have something a bit more tame.

This is where you can either decide to hire a person to help you that is an interior designer, or you can go about it all by yourself. For money savings you will want to do all the stuff by yourself. Of course you will have all the stress of what color to paint the walls and if you want to have wall paper or just a border, or if it’s a feminine look or if you want to go for a more masculine look.

As a side rant, I can't believe that the modern DSLRs do not have a size crop mode. I would love to look through the view finder and compose to 6x7, 8x10, etc, even if you miss pixels.

I’m not one for beds floating haphazardly in the middle of the room (I need the anchoring reassurance of a wall, please), but I love the color palette Vincente Wolf used in this Palm Beach condo.

He designed the bed’s powder-coated steel frame, coating it in white enamel “to look like a line drawing” against the pearly blue walls, painted Benjamin Moore’s Patriotic White.

Bed curtains are VW Home's Linen Sheer in lime green. Shades are Bergamo's Dunes in ice blue. Anichini bed linens. Tina floor lamps from LightForms.
